The Writer’s Room Lore (+ 2026 Updates)

In December of 2023, I hosted my first ever blog writing challenge where people could join me (for free!) for 3 weeks with one goal in mind: write one blog post for your business each week.

That was it. 3 weeks. 3 blog posts.

My goal was to have 10 people register for the challenge, so you can imagine how surprised I was when almost 100 people joined! 🤯

During the challenge, I hosted a weekly Co-writing Wednesday call where we’d all come together and work on our blog writing for the week and then I’d give people the chance to submit their content to me for review!

Throughout those 3 weeks, I reviewed and provided feedback on nearly 50 blog posts from people in all different industries and in all different stages of writing.

Some of them had been writing blogs for their business for a long time, while others were truly starting from scratch.

I LOVED IT! And so did everyone else…

During week 1 of Blogmas, I realized I really didn’t want it to end. So on a whim, I decided to act on an idea that I had been sitting on for a verryyyy long time… a blog writing membership.

How The Writer’s Room Came To Be

Prior to hosting the challenge, I had multiple people ask me different versions of the same question…

“Is there a way you can hold me accountable to consistently writing blog content?”

“Can I send my content to you for review before I actually publish it?”

These questions had planted the seed early on for some sort of container where I could truly do all of these things. For so long, I wasn’t clear on what it should look like, but the challenge made it VERY clear on what the membership could be.

So I did it! It was a true “flying the plane while building it” type of thing.

In 3 weeks, I decided exactly what the membership would include, created a membership portal full of blog writing resources, and set up the backend logistics, all while also writing content to promote the membership.

Looking back, it’s actually crazy how much work I poured into this in such a short amount of time, but it was SO worth it and I’m forever glad that I made the decision to launch it when I did!

I named it The Writer’s Room and at the end of Blogmas, I announced the membership to the participants and offered them a founding member rate.

Nearly 30 members joined from Blogmas alone and the rest was history!

The Purpose of The Writer’s Room

From the very beginning, The Writer’s Room has always been about one main thing: actually creating content for YOUR business weekly.

As business owners, it’s so easy to pour all of your time into your client work and put your own business on the backburner. I’ve definitely been guilty of that, so I really wanted to create a space for business owners to dedicate time to THEIR business weekly.

To help with this, a huge part of the membership has always been Co-writing Wednesday – a weekly co-writing call where you simply show up to work on blog content for your business.

You don’t have to figure out when you’re going to do the work – it’s already decided for you!

Along with Co-writing Wednesday, members also get the ability to submit one piece of content for review each week (just like during Blogmas) because having another set of eyes on your content before actually publishing it for the world to consume can be super valuable.

But in addition to those two things, when I was first launching The Writer’s Room, I felt like I needed to add MORE stuff.

Things like bi-monthly trainings, guest expert calls, tons of resources and guides, and more.

I wanted it to feel like a no-brainer for people to join – a true go-to spot if you wanted to learn and implement blogging for your business.

So that’s what I did! Then, as the membership started to grow, I decided to add even more things, like quarterly members-only challenges, quarterly community calls, etc.

Members seemed to be enjoying everything and I really loved hosting it all, but then something happened…

Last year (in 2025), I could sense the overwhelm.

I could tell that my members were starting to feel more pressured to attend all of the calls or watch all the trainings or implement all the things I was teaching and that’s when I said, WAIT. ✋🏼

The entire purpose of The Writer’s Room is to simply show up and prioritize creating blog content for your business weekly.

The purpose of the membership is to simply DO the thing that you already know is important to do.

The purpose of the membership is action and implementation… not necessarily information.

I realized that I had gotten us all a little off course and even though the information I was providing in the membership was good and helpful, it wasn’t always serving the one main purpose of The Writer’s Room as a whole.

What my members value the MOST is that this is a membership where you don’t just learn something new and then one day maybeeeee actually apply it to your business.

Instead, it’s a place to implement in real time.

Soooo, I decided to completely change the membership model and dare I say it’s better than ever?

2026 Changes to The Writer’s Room

The Writer’s Room was once a membership that included allll the things that you’d typically expect a membership to include – a portal full of trainings and resources, extra calls to add to your calendar, and more.

But NOW – in 2026 – it’s more simple and focused so that you never have to question what you should be working on.

The purpose remains the same: show up to create content for your business weekly.

When you enroll in The Writer’s Room, you get:

✍🏼 Weekly Co-writing Wednesday Calls (to hold you accountable for consistent blog writing in your business)

📝 Weekly Feedback Accessibility (so you can feel confident in your content creation before you press publish)

👥 Slack Community (for access to other members to brainstorm, support, provide feedback, etc.)

🎉 Quarterly Blog Content Planning Party (so you can have a strategic blog plan ready to implement)

JOIN THE WRITER'S ROOM

There’s no portal or extra trainings or a backlog of resources to catch up on.

It’s simply a space to help you actually DO the thing that you know is important for your business!

With those changes also came a price change. It’s now only $47/month to be a Writer’s Room member and I’m ALWAYS enrolling new members.

Meaning, there’s no open cart/close cart situation. Even though that goes against almost everything you hear in the online business world, the biggest lesson I learned in 2025 is to do the things that feel right for me and my business.

So when I talk about The Writer’s Room, you won’t find me saying things like “limited spots” or “time is running out.”

Nope, it’s here when YOU are ready to implement consistent blogging for your business, but you don’t want to do it alone!

And if now isn’t that time, I have some additional blog related resources that you might be interested in in the meantime:
